Landeshauptstadt Schwerin - Volkshochschule "Ehm Welk"

The Volkshochschule "Ehm Welk" is the municipal institution for further education of the state capital Schwerin. The educational offers of this state-recognized institution of further education are generally aimed at all those interested in education in Schwerin and the surrounding area, in particular at groups with special educational needs such as young adults who would like to acquire their school-leaving certificate free of charge by taking the second educational route.

As a center of communication and integration, the VHS "Ehm Welk" is a place for lifelong learning. Approximately 4,000 participants from Schwerin and the surrounding area attend the courses and seminars in the departments of society, languages, culture, career, basic education, health and observatory every year. The events of the 18 senior citizens' groups and the educational trips are also very popular.
The program also includes projects and exhibitions in the areas of art/culture and politics, also in cooperation with other institutions. In addition to the range of courses, the VHS offers customized educational events and courses for public authorities, institutions, companies and professional groups.
