Landeshauptstadt Schwerin - Fachdienst Verkehrsmanagement

The following tasks are performed in the Traffic Management department:

• Traffic conception and traffic planning
• Lower traffic authority and special uses on public traffic areas
• Design/construction of traffic facilities and road construction management.

These tasks are prescribed by law. Many tasks result from the requirements of the road traffic regulations. Signs, markings or the installation of traffic signals on existing roads or roads to be newly built are based on these regulations.
However, not all roads in the state capital are the responsibility of our department. Federal roads, for example, are partly the responsibility of the federal government or the state.
