It is carried out in close cooperation with the ammunition salvage service at the State Office for Central Tasks and Technology of the Police, Fire and Disaster Control.

As a special regulatory authority, the ammunition salvage service is specially equipped and trained for this area. It alone is responsible for the recovery of explosive objects.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit at the state capital Schwerin is responsible for providing cadastral information on areas that may be contaminated with explosive ordnance (especially in connection with construction work), coordinating measures to remove explosive ordnance and preparing for operations.
