Landeshauptstadt Schwerin - Fachgruppe Integrierte Leitstelle Westmecklenburg

The Integrated Control Center Westmecklenburg (ILWM) of the state capital Schwerin is responsible for handling emergency calls to the Europe-wide standardized emergency number 112 around the clock.

Its area of responsibility covers the territories of the counties Ludwigslust-Parchim, Nordwestmecklenburg (including the Hanseatic city of Wismar) and the state capital Schwerin. This results in responsibility for 7,000 km² and approximately 467,000 inhabitants. In addition, there are about 50,000 commuters and the numerous vacationers in the region.

For the entire rescue service area, the emergency vehicles from 32 rescue station locations are alerted, dispatched and the relevant deployment documents are prepared.

In addition, the coordination of 328 volunteer fire departments in almost all municipalities as well as 2 professional fire department locations in Schwerin and Wismar is handled.

The ILWM is also the central coordination point (ZKS) for secondary intensive care transports in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
