Landeshauptstadt Schwerin - Fachgruppe Allgemeiner Sozialer Dienst (ASD)

The socio-educational specialists of the General Social Service (ASD) assist parents, children, adolescents, and young adults with problems in the family or difficulties in shaping their own lives. These can be school problems, parenting problems, problems arising from separation and divorce situations, psychological problems, "stress at home" and much more. The task of the General Social Service is to promote the development of young people and to support and supplement education in the family.

The specialists of the general social service (ASD)

• provide general information, e.g. about socio-spatial services and offers of help from the youth welfare services in Schwerin
• advise with the aim of providing effective support for families
• advise on questions concerning contact and custody rights
• mediate and accompany educational assistance
• participate in proceedings before the family courts
• watch over the well-being of children and adolescents

The staff of the General Social Service is responsible for planning and determining the need for educational assistance and integration assistance in accordance with Book VIII of the Social Code.
