If you are entitled to use the professional title "engineer" but cannot yet provide evidence of two years of practical engineering experience or if you are an engineering student, you can apply to be entered on the list of non-voting members.

The job title "Consulting Engineer" is protected by law. If you wish to use this title, you must be entered in the list of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers.

For the construction and alteration of buildings that are not exempt from procedures, the building documents must be signed by a designer who is authorized to submit building documents.

Anyone who is entered in the list of fire protection planners maintained by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers is authorized to prepare fire protection certificates in accordance with Section 66 (2) sentence 3 LBauO M-V.

Anyone who is entered in the list of structural engineers maintained by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers is authorized to prepare stability certificates in accordance with Section 66 (2) of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Building Code.

If you wish to provide certain services in another EU country, some EU countries (e.g., Austria, Belgium, Luxemburg) require the EU qualifications certificate as proof of your professional experience.

The professional title "Consulting Engineer" may only be used in the name or company name of a company if the company is registered in a special register at the Chamber of Engineers Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (register of companies).

In order to be allowed to use the professional title "engineer" in Germany, you need a permit. For the permit, you need the recognition of your foreign professional qualification as an engineer.

If you want to work as a trainer, you must pass an aptitude test.

You must notify the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Chamber of Engineers in advance of your first activity as an authorized building designer. Upon application, you will be entered in the list of external engineers authorized to submit building proposals.

As an external structural engineer in M-V, you must notify the M-V Chamber of Engineers in advance of the first-time preparation of stability certificates in accordance with the LBauO M-V. Upon application, you will be entered in the list of external structural engineers.

You must notify the Chamber of Engineers M-V of the first-time provision of a service as an engineer in M-V with the M-V Chamber of Engineers in advance. Upon application the professional title "engineer" will be granted and you will be an entry is made in the "list of external service providers".

As an external fire protection planner in M-V, you must notify the M-V Chamber of Engineers in advance of the first-time preparation of fire protection certificates in accordance with the LBauO M-V. Upon application you will be entered in the list of external fire protection planners.

If you no longer work as an engineer in a particular field, you must apply to the Chamber of Engineers to be removed from the list.

The chambers promote the implementation of vocational training preparation, vocational training, and vocational retraining by providing guidance to all parties involved.
